One-of-a-kind, largeVictorian tea cozy / cosy with black velvet cover, fancy embroidery, and cordedseam with grasp pull. Inside of cozy ispadded and lined with a deep burgundy/brown velvet fabric in great shape. My guess is that this is silk velvet – very soft& I have an antique silk velvet purse that is very similar to thetouch. This is the most exquisiteembroidery that I have come across (a true artisan) and it’s in excellentcondition. Both sides are embroidered. My pics don’t do thisjustice.

Minor flaw in the cordedgrasp pull – there is a very minor area of unravel in one of the loops (thereare 3), but it does not detract from the beauty of this piece. I’m very picky about my descriptions. This came from an English estate and has beenin their family since the mid-1800s. Itdoesn’t appear to have been used at all –or- if it was, someone took great careof it.

Measurements:

14” long x 10” tall x 4”thick (larger than most cozies I’ve seen)
