This is for a lovely original old pewter wine bottle stopper with a strongly stylised art nouveau whiplash pattern on the top. The design is the same on both sides and incorporates a flower. It has its tapered corkand it is in absolute excellent condition with no damage to it anywhere. I can not see a mark but it looks to be made by one of the prolific German metalware firms around 1900...possibly WMF ? It measures 32mm(1.25\") in diameter and stands 100mm (4\") tall.
