SUPERB, BLUE AND WHITE, CHINESE, K’ANG-HSI PERIOD, PORCELAIN PLATE, c. 1700:

LATE 17th / EARLY 18th C. K’ANG-HSI PERIOD, CHINESE PORCELAIN PLATE, circa. 1661 to 1722

This is a very good Chinese Porcelain Plate from the period, circa 1661-1722, or possibly earlier, late Ming export.

This plate is circular with a beautiful light bluey-green, steel like, glaze,(see Picture 3 for colour)which has some small bubbles and pitted pin marks in it, particularly noticeable on the base.The footrim is cut away as normal and the rim has apale brown edge to it.

It is hand decorated in a simple underglaze garden pattern with a central bamboo tree, flowers and wall in at least three shades of blue, enclosed in double concentric blue circles. The outer circumference has a simple narrow geometricborder pattern.

Condition: Very Good, with the decoration showing little to no wear.

There are some slight glaze crazing lines to the central area of the plate.(not many)

Otherwise the plate is intact, with no chips, cracks, or evidence of restoration.- which is very unusual in a plate of this age
