This is asuperb mid 19th century gothic armorial mahogany carving with a lion head to centre within an ornate carved crest. C.1860.

Really excellent attention to detail on this gothic panel with a mounted armorial relief carving of a lion head with crest to centre of panel. Intricate armorial crest with leaf, shell and scolled carving with gothic wings to either side of the crest. The lion head is beautifully carved with deep set eyes and mouth open.

Measures some 15.25\" x 24.25\".

Excellent age commensurate condition overall with the bottom of lion\'s mouth missing as images show. There are two seams visible to back of panel where this piece was carved in three sections. See all as per images please.
