SUPERB ANTIQUE FRENCH PORCELAIN WASH BASIN LAVABO HYGEINE MODERNE PARIS c1880

Please scroll down below description for more pictures.This fabulous antique French Paris porcelain wash basin lavabo would grace any period Sallr de Bains bathroom.
It dates from the late 1800s and came to me from a chateau refurbishment.
It would originally have sat on two side brackets and would simply have been tipped forward into a lead tray to empty it.
Today, it could be re-worked into any period setting.
The front carries the makers name in a scrolled cartouche and the top has the remains of a gilded border.
I cam find just a couple of small chips in the top which do not detract at all.
All solid and strong, the metal side brackets are all intact and the porcelain glaze has a wonderful crackle with age as it should do at this age.
Measurements:
Diameter 37cms
Height 14cms.
It is a heavyweight confection full of faded charm.
