A very fine 1851 pattern infantry officer\'s kepi insignia. It\'s embroidered of gilt bullion wire on a black wool felt ground, with separately applied german silver figure \"2\" in the center of the horn. It measures 2 1/4\" wide and is in absolutely superb condition. The bullion and \"2\" are still bright, and there is just a bit of fraying around the felt edge. A beautiful piece of insignia and really hard to find in this condition.
