This isa quite superb pair of large Staffordshire male schoolboy & female schoolgirl figurines wearing the capes and carrying satchels ofwhich:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the 19th century.

Date aboutc1880s.

Underneath an unusual Staffordshire incised mark of:

Made in England with an incised number to the rear of the female.

A left & a right.

Wonderful portrayals of the schoolboy & schoolgirl figurines.

Both are portrayed wearing capes and carrying satchels.

Superb facial decoration.

Male wears a hat with the female having a hood to her cape.

Both are mounted on the decorative bases.

Pottery.

Each hasan overall height of about 13inches.

Max overall sizeof the hollowed bases of about 4 x 3.75inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is excellent with no major blemishes.

due to age: both are subject to overall fine crazing.
