This is an absolutelystunningsolid silver and enamel peacock broochmade bythe reknowned makerMarius Hammerof Bergen. The peacock is enamelled inrealistic iridescent shades of royal blues, purple, yellow and greens set in an opaqueblack background amongst red and green flora. Superb naturalistic feathers and much more luminous than shown.A shimmery effect is created by the clever enamel techniques used and seen when the brooch catches the light.All of the enamel is in excellent condition with no damage orscratches.This oval broochwith a wavy edge ismarked930S for top quality silver and also has the maker\'strademark M with a hammer through the centre for Marius Hammer. It measuresa large5.5cms /2.25insacross and3.5 cms /1.4 ins deep.There is the ususualc clasp andpin fitting on the back.Please note that this is an originalbrooch and not a copy/ reproduction piece.There is some light reflection in the photos and not damage to the enamel. A very rare broochwhich will not disappoint the buyer andwill appeal to collectors.
