This is a superb pair of Staffordshire male & female figurines carrying the fruits in a basket and apron of which:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the 19th century.

Date about c1890s.

Staffordshire, Englandorigin.

Pottery, ceramic.

Awonderful pair of: a male & female figurines.

Both portrayed carrying fruits, males in a basket and the females in the folds of her apron.

Both in wonderful dress attires, each wearing a hat.

A left and a right.

Mounted onto the decorative oval hollowed bases with the gilt and areas of coloured bocage to the bases.

Each has an overall height of about 8inches.

Hollow bases with overall sizes ofabout 3.25 x 2.75inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is every good and both are without any major blemish except:

male has an early repair to the bough at the rear and to one front leg.

Due to age: both are subject to areas of loss of colour with overall fine crazing.

All as perpictures.

Besides being a very collectable pair of 19th centuryStaffordshire male & female figures, portrayed carrying fruits, mounted onto the decorative bases, c1890s, both would also look fabulous displayed.
