These are an a superb pair of very large Staffordshire white & gilt seated spaniel dogsof which:

during our research: we have been informed they certainly datefrom themid 19th century:

date aboutc1860s.

Wonderfulpair of Staffordshire white & gilt seated spaniel dogs with their superb colouring & portrayals with their quite wonderful facial decoration to both.

A left and a right.

Gilt collars, locks and chains.

Pottery.

Wonderful overall portrayals.

Each has an overall height of about 14.5inches.

Hollowed bases with an overall size underneathof about 9.25 x 5.25inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is:

one is excellent and is without any major blemish except blemishes to the rear of the base underneath at a corner.

other is subject to:having ahairline to the central rear with glaze chipping, nibbling in the same area.

Due to age: both are subject to overall fine crazing and have loss ofcolour to the areas of gilt.
