Description A superb qualitylargeveryheavy English antique solid sterling silvercigarette case by the silversmiths W H Manton Ltd, in lovely clean conditionand with full English silver hallmarks forBirmingham 1921.Stunning case, 97 years old and a handsome size,with a flush-fitting hinged silver lidand protruding sprung silver push-button lid opener and still has its beautiful original fully gilded interior. Has nice rolled edges and is decorated with handsome engine-turned engraving. Substantial heavy silver weight, approx.204 grams. Complete with its original elasticated cigarette band and importantly withno added engraved personal inscriptions or monograms. Looks only little used.

Measurements Great size, measures approx 4.5 inches (114mm)x3.4 inches (85mm) and is0.4inches (10mm) deep. Will easily take a modern credit card.

Date English antique solid sterling silver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1921(date letter \"w\"). Excellent clear struck matchinghallmark stampson both sides of the case.Maker Silversmiths initials \"W.H.M\", (W.H Manton Ltd).ConditionLovely clean condition, and looks only little used.No splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairsand no nasty knocks, dents, just 1 teeny little pin-head bruise, honestly nothing at all and a very nice example. The silverlid hinge and sprung push-button lid opener both work perfectly and the lid opens and closes securely and tightly. Handsome engine-turned engraving and with a beautiful original gilded interior. Complete with its elasticated cigarette band.
