Presenting a superb vintage glass Micro Mosaic brooch.
Dating from the 1960s / 70s this exquisite Italian Micro Mosaic
brooch has a multitude of tiny Italian glass canes and tiles arranged
to form a fabulous and finely detailed miniature floral mosaic.
Crisp white, vibrant red, yellow and pink canes are arranged
to form flowers neatly arranged as a central floral posy
with interspersed leaves adding a splash of green foliage.
The central posy is beautifully framed with a border of pastel blue
glass tiles, the entire mosaic being perfectly arranged within a gold
toned oval shaped metal backing with a fine rope twist edging.
This exquisite piece is finely worked. The tiny glass shaped
canes would have been painstakingly difficult to create, let
alone arrange into this stunning micro mosaic brooch. The quality
and craftsmanship to create this piece is superb. This brooch would
have been produced by a talented Italian Murano glass artist as
a souvenir for visitors to the popular island tourist destination.
This fabulous brooch is presented in excellent vintage condition
with no missing pieces. There are no breaks, cracks or losses. The
original pin remains in place and is in good secure working order. This
fine example has been very well cared for and presents beautifully.
