Hi and welcome to my sale for this stunning CALABASH GOURD pipe.The pipe measurements are as follows :-
Pipe Length - 155 mmBowl Depth - 65 mmBowl Diameter -50 mm andBowl Hole Diameter - 21 mmThe band is stamped HP&S in a cartouche ( Henry Perkins and Sons ) and with the Leopards Head ( London ) Lion ( sterling silver .925 ) and date letter \"a\" 1916
stamped on the rim \" STERLING SILVER \" and \" HP&S\" in a cartouche
Henry Perkins & Sons was a registered makers mark from 1909 although the firm was established in 1901 and was converted into a limited company in 1922 as Henry Perkins & Sons Ltd. The sons being Arthur and Henry Charles.The were a well respected silversmiths and went on to make high end lighters and private label ( Ascot ) pipes for DUNHILL
The case is original with the PERKINS label and is in very good condition the hinges work but the closing clasp although present will require some adjustment ( not completely holding together ) - the inside is a beige velvet slight tear in the corner at the side of the labelreally quite a find with original case
A truly wonderful, quality smoking pipe - used but in very good/excellent condition, a couple of dints on the bright work,fairly clean and tidy inside, clear airwayall in all lovely, striking lookingexample
