Mason of Boston carved the original from heart of Elmwood in 1851. The Three-Quarter Figurehead preliminary drawing was made for the Samuel Hanscom Shipyard at Portsmouth, N.H...this is a reproduction taken from that plan and measures 16\" x 17\" it is produced on standard type blueprint paper....(201)
