SALE ~Rocks, Minerals, Fossils, Shells, Arrowheads, Artifacts, Crystals - LOT 65:
$19.95

I am listing a good number of individual lots of rocks, minerals, fossils, shells, arrowheads, native artifacts, crystals and more. Please see note at the bottom of this description regarding combined shipping and invoices.
LOT 65 - large loose lot of larger specimens. Some tool remnants, some with fossilized imprints, one marked \"BW\" for Buttonwoods, others marked. Much variety. Almost 14 pounds of specimens, so will be shipped Priority Flat Rate anywhere.
The collection is from an estate sale in Kingston, Rhode Island, near the University of Rhode Island. The original owner of this collection was an engineer by trade and an amateur archaeologist who belonged to an Archaeology Society based in Boston. Most of his findings where in the Kingston area, as well as other prominent Indian sites in Rhode Island, like Buttonwoods, (I also saw an arrowhead from Cuttyhunk, MA and some out-out-state specimens too).
In his own notes, he says that \"Indians may well have considered our state (RI) as being truly a \'happy hunting ground.\' It is difficult to find a place in Rhode Island that is far distant from a water supply. . . . Our extensive coastline, with many bays, gave a ready supply of fish and shellfish. Many rivers emptying into bays were navigable by canoe for many miles inland. Game animals and birds were in abundance . . . . Our lands were lush with berries, grapes, nuts, herbs and root vegetables. Many areas are level and have fertile soils. Many areas farmed by the Indians are still being farmed today.\"
Many of these lots are in their original display trays. A number of the display trays are beautiful dove-tailed oak with purple inserts. Other trays are marked \"Hadley.\" And some lots are in candy or other boxes, wired onto cardboard and marked, or just loose. See the photographs of each numbered lot. The lot you offer on will be the lot you receive.
As I am no expert on most of this kind of collection, I make no representations of what you are looking at in each lot. I\'m sure if you looking at this at all, you possess far more knowledge of these specimens than I do. I also take no responsibility for any mislabeled specimen trays, as labels may have been moved about prior to my purchase. Some specimens have writing on them, a letter and number, which is most likely a cataloging of the specimen, however, I have no idea what the marking means, nor did I find any sort of key explaining them. Where you see notes photographed, they are the original notes in the collector\'s handwriting and will be included with the specific lot.Nothing has been cleaned, nor any loose trays fixed, you will receive the lot in the condition found, as is.These lots will be packaged and weighed separately upon purchase because WE WILL COMBINE SHIPPING FOR MULTIPLE LOT PURCHASES.PLEASE ASK FOR AN INVOICE SO THAT I CAN CALCULATE ACCURATE SHIPPING FOR YOU. The estimated shipping in this listing may not be accurate for your intended lot(s).
