SARGENT MADE CRAFTSMAN PLANE WITH OVAL BRASS NAME PLATE This SARGENT made plane was manufactured in short runs sometime between 1927 and 1936. They were made with the SARGENT logo and with the CRAFTSMAN logo. Other than the name on the brass insert, the planes were identical. One has to think that the planes with the CRAFTSMAN logo would be less numerous than the planes put out with the SARGENT name. This plane is a 414C size that is in excellent condition. No touch ups or repairs and all parts are original to the plane. No rust or pitting, just some darkened patina from age. The logo on the cutter, on the brass insert and the decal at the toe of the plane all match. All of the original japanned finish remains.
