ITEM DESCRIPTIONFrom a smoke free home. Here is your opportunity to own a piece of pop culture history, a very rare blue cover variant of the #137 issue of Savage Dragon, published by Image Comics, 10/2008. When Amazing Spider-Man #583 came out with a cover variant featuring Barack Obama in 2009, it created quite a stir... but the undisputed title for first ever appearance of this historic U.S. President on a comic book cover belongs to Savage Dragon #137 which was printed many months earlier. It quickly sold out of four different color cover variants. In what proved to be a shrewd move by Savage Dragon creator Erik Larsen, this comic book along with the Savage Dragon name is now permanently tied to this highly collectible piece of pop culture American history. It is hard to find a collector who wouldn\'t like to have a copy of the first ever comic book cover appearance of this iconic and historic President, in their collection. Before the copy you are looking at now, I for one have never seen a certified copy from either grading company signed by Erik Larsen of the blue cover variant. The prestigious silver Signature Edition label at the top of this book indicates that PGX witnessed the signing at the 2014 Emerald City Comicon this past March, before grading and encapsulating the book for permanent signature authenticity. This copy boasts a Near Mint 9.4 grade and perfectWHITE pages page quality designation, with a brand new holder fresh back from PGX. What is critically important about the PGX Signature Edition in creating a collectible with value not just today but far out into the future, is the authentication, proving without a shadow of doubt that it was Larsen himself who signed this copy, with a PGX representative as witness. Just look at my other listing of a 1986 Megaton #3 to see just how much Larsen\'s signature has evolved over the years (comparing how he signed the cover art back in 1986 versus how his signature looks today). Without the PGX Signature Edition, decades from now a collector would honestly have no clue if the signature was real or not, even if presented with a fancy looking certificate. That\'s why the silver Signature Edition label carries so much prestige and adds so much value above and beyond the book itself; as the new owner of the book you will know with certainty that Larsen himself signed it, plus, you will know with certainty that the next owner (should you ever decide to remove this gem from your collection) will know with certainty that Larsen himself signed it.SHIPPING INFORMATIONI always take great care to package comics well for shipment — my assumption when packing, is that the boxwillbe dropped on its corner by a postal worker, and therefore needs to be protected accordingly. I am a collector like you and I\'ve received my fair (unfair) share of cracked cases. So rest assured, great care will be taken, and the comic will reach you safely; some of my positive response responses include these comments:\"The Best Packing I\'ve Ever Seen\", \"Fast international shipping, bomb-proof packaging\", \"Lightning fast! Book very well packed, could have survived nuclear attack!\"THANKS FOR LOOKINGIf you have any questions just let me know.
