Scarce Antique American Pewter Teapot, De Witt Kimberley, Meriden, CT, c. 1845 - 1849.
I have been selling Antique pewter for more than 35 years and I have never seen a piece of pewter with this mark. This teapot is a very nice example of small American pewter in a classical form. The teapot has an impressed mark on the bottom of the base that reads, \"D. W. K.\". The \"W\" is not an ordianry one, as it has a strange shape. I believe that this is the mark of De Witt Kimberley, who worked out of Meriden, CT from 1845-1849. This mark is listed in the \"Guide To American Pewter\" by Carl Jacobs, page 120 where \"No known examples\", was listed. DIMENSIONS: 7 5/8\" H. 4 3/8\" W. x 9 3/4\" L. from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle.

CONDITION: The condition is very good with some wear, scratching and some minor dents to the body. The finial on top is loose and a little crooked. The black paint is missing on the handle.
