SCARCE Antique Limoges shell dish ca 1850:

This 5x4\" dish in the shape of a scallop shell is unmarked, but almost assuredly Limoges. The gold decoration and quality are strikingly similar to the gold band, or \"wedding band\" dinnerware produced by Limoges in the 1840s. The dish is in near-perfect condition with no chips, cracks or crazing; showing only the wear on the gold decoration expected after more than a century.
