Has 18 scallopsaround the edge; some scallops have some minor roughness like that shown in thethird photo, but otherwise in super condition.Far less roughness than usual in these plates.

Has swirl marks inthe center section to indicate that it was blown in a mold.

From the Kovels: Cup plates are small glass plates that held the cup while adiner of the mid-nineteenth century drank coffee or tea from the saucer. Themost famous cup plates were made of glass at the Boston and Sandwich factorylocated in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Originally, cup plates were made of blownglass, but later of pressed glass. There have been many new glass cup platesmade recently for sale to gift shops or limited edition collectors that are similarto the old plates but can be recognized as new.
