Vintage modernist bronze earrings by Finland\'s Karl Laine featuring a seldom-seen design consisting of afour-petal flower atop aroughly shaped loop; I believe these were produced for the design firm of Sten and Laine. What makes this design particularly interesting is that the sides and backs are blackenedproducing a very striking dimensionality to the pieces. While I have seen this blackened effect in other mid-century Scandinavian bronze pieces, including the other pair of bronze Laine earrings I currently have listed,I am not very familiar with bronze jewelry nor the technique used to create this effect. In the case of these earrings it is much more dramatic, in part due to the fact the condition is simply pristine asthey are brand new, never worn, and were purchased as \"New Old Stock\" from a retiring jeweler.Details & Hallmarks:The earrings measure 1 3/8 inches in length/height not including the hooks.
