Offered for your consideration is a rare vintage Cutco #30 paring knife. These knives are of exceptional quality and offer outstanding performance. This is from Cutco\'s original line of knives that ran from 1949-1951. The knife features the straight handle that was only offered on these first generation knives. As with many sets, the paring knife is usually the hardest to come by, as they had a very high attrition rate. Most saw heavy use, were lost, damaged, sharpened until nothing but a pointy stub remained, or met the most horrible of fates for the paring knife...the dreaded garbage disposer encounter. This model is very difficult to find in any condition and nice, original examples are quite scarce. Examples like this one are virtually non-existent. I\'ve owned literally thousands of Cutco knives over the years and have had hundreds of first generation knives. I\'ve only had a few examples of this model and this one is among the nicest I\'ve seen. The knife is a conditional rarity and used examples just don\'t come much nicer!Cutco\'s knives were featured on The History Channel\'s \"Modern Marvels\" show for the excellent quality and outstanding edge retention they offer. It has not been buffed, polished, or refurbished and remains original.The knife was beautifully crafted and offers a full measure of the fine quality that built Cutco\'s reputation. The really looks as though it was only used a couple of ties at the very most. The blade has not been sharpened and retains its original factory edge. The deeply polished mirror finish is free of any grind marks or sharpening abrasions. The etched markings remain bold and strong with great contrast against the finish. The edge is free of any nicks, chips, dings, or damage and remains very nice with no obvious wear. It remains sharp and the knife is ready for immediate use. The needle-sharp tip is intact and original with no blunting, burrs, or bending. The handle remains very nice as well. It\'s free of any of the dishwasher bleaching and fade that\'s so common to these knives, with the surfaces remaining dark and rich. The handle exhibits most of its original factory luster and shows little wear.
