Schoenhut “FAIRFIELD Western Maryland Dairy” MILK WAGON:

In the late 1920s and early 1930s, before Schoenhut declared bankruptcy, various milk and bread wagons were produced. Often times a dairy could special-order wagons with their own logo, as is the case with this example. Two distinct versions of wagons were produced: the side entry and the rear entry.
Included with this side entry wagon is a case of 6 bottles of milk. The brown horse is actually of German manufacture and specifically imported by Schoenhut for exclusive use with their various wagons. The horse being mounted on a wooden wheeled platform. This is a very rare and seldom found wagon, with fewer than a handful known. SIZE: Approx. 25″ l. overall.
CONDITION: Some wear to wagon sides and minor paint loss on the wheels and rims. The milkman\'s costume has been professionally replaced.
