ANTIQUE, SCOTTISH SILVER PAIR CASED POCKET WATCH, Wm GILCHRIST HADDINGTON, SPARES/REPAIR

An antique, ScottishSilver Pair Cased Pocket Watch, made by William Gilchrist of Haddington and dating from c1882/83.

The Royal Burgh of Haddington is a town in East Lothian, Scotland near Edinburgh.

Sadly the watch is notin working order, therefore being sold for spare parts or restoration.

Both solid silver cases are in good condition (although in need of a clean/polish).

They are hallmarked with the Lion Passant silver mark, the London town mark, the case maker’s initials and the date letter \"G\" for 1882/83.

The movement, is notcurrently in working order, appears to be not complete, the fuse chain and cone are missing. The balance swings freely. It is key wound and set (no key provided). The movement has a nicely engraved balance cock and is signed by the maker \"Wm Gilchrist, Haddington\".

The dial is in good condition and has a nice pair of hands.

The bulls eye glass has scratches.

The watch measures approximately52 mm in diameter (excuding stem and bow ring).
