• Offered for sale is a high quality hand painted artist signed set of four plates. Superb portraits with fine lace raised gold borders and light cream color edges. 3 of them have insignificant small glaze flakes on the inner edge of the base rims, possibly as made but there is no other damage or repair. I see one slight short surface scratch in one of the portraits and if you look very carefully under a strong light, you can see a slight bit of stacking wear on the inner rim highpoint edges. Extremely minor, not distracting and only mentioned for accuracy. These are very clean and beautiful plates! They date from the fourth quarter of the 19th century and are all artist signed M. Garnier. The plates measure 9&1/2\" in diameter.
