Estate Find: I believe this to be a set of 4 McCoy Mixing Bowls that were purchased together about 90-100 years ago. Sizes are 9-1/2, 8-1/2, 7-1/2, and 6-1/2. The 8,7, and 6 are in almost new condition...show no use that I see. These were manufactured for farm and home use...utilitarian pieces; therefore, quality control was not a big issue...glazing flaws were accepted.
The 9-1/2 has a couple of chips on the rim which may be where the glaze popped off. The rim glaze is not real smooth on this one. All but the 6 has the USA mark on the bottom. (Many pottery companies use the USA mark to distinguish from imported pottery. When the Tarrif act of 1930 was enacted requiring imported goods to have country of origin, most American companies dropped the USA mark). Because of the USA mark, we can assume that the bowls were manufactured before 1930.
Please examine pictures carefully and ask questions before offerding...shipping is too expensive for mistakes.
