Listing an antique Seth Thomas 8 day time and strike mantel clock movement. This model stamped 4 1/2 was used in adamantine mantel clocks starting around c. 1902. Movement has been cleaned, bushings installed where needed, oiled and bench tested. This model strikes the hour on the hour and strikes a brass cup bell once on the half. All components of the movement have been inspected and all repairs have been made. Movement will show areas of wear from years of use.
Movement was tested on a level test stand with a 5.3 oz. non adjustable pendulum. Pendulum drop from center shaft to bottom of pendulum is 4 1/2 inches. Movement can also be used with an adjustable pendulum of equal weight and length.
This model has the shorter 13/16s inch adjustable mounting feet and a 1 inch long center shaft. This model was most likely used in a case with a flat glass. Use this model to replace many other 89 series Seth Thomas movements. Look the photos over closely to see if this movement will work for you. Questions asked prior to purchase sometimes resolves later problems.
