Listing an antique Seth Thomas 8 day time and strike mantel clock movement. This model stamped 89AL was used in adamantine and wooded cased clocks starting in c.1915 and into the c. 1920s. Movement has been cleaned, re-bushed where needed, oiled and bench tested. Both mainsprings have been replaced with correct fitting new replacements. All components of the movement have been inspected and all repairs have been made. This model strikes the hour on the hour and strikes once on the half. Movement will show signs of wear from years of use.
Movement was tested on a level test stand with a 5 oz. (approx.) non adjustable pendulum. Pendulum drop from center shaft to bottom of pendulum is 4 1/2 inches. Movement can also be used with an adjustable pendulum. This model has the longer1 inch adjustable mounting feet and a 1 1/4 inch center shaft. This movement can be used to replace many other 89 series movements with the longer mounting feet. Look the photos over closely to see if this movement will work for you. Asking questions before sometimes helps in resolving problems. Movement may require minor adjustment to adapt to your case. Movement sold as shown.
