Listing an antique Seth Thomas 8 day time and strike mantel clock movement. This open back plate model stamped 89AL was used in adamantine and wooden cased mantel clocks beginning around c. 1915. Movement has been cleaned, bushings installed where needed, oiled and bench tested. All components of the movement have been inspected and all repairs have been made. Movement will show areas of wear from years of use.
Movement was tested on a level test stand with a 5.3 oz. non adjustable pendulum. Pendulum drop from center shaft to bottom of pendulum is 4 1/2 inches. Movement can also be used with an adjustable pendulum of equal weight and length.
This model has the longer 1 inch adjustable mounting feet and a 1 3/16s inch long center shaft. This model was most likely used in a case with a convex glass. If you are replacing an existing movement make sure all measurements are the same as the one listed. Use this model to replace many other Seth Thomas 89 series movements. Look the photos over closely to see if this movement will work for you. Questions asked prior to purchase sometimes resolves later problems.Trades considered.
