Case

Wonderful condition with Black Adamantine with marbleized Orange & Green. 4 full columns (2 on each side). Serpentine top. Larger than normal front feet. Feet and column plinths & crowns have been painted at one time in its life, but they are all in good condition ready for restoration. Original back board with original brass “ST” logo dust cover. Original bottom board with original white paint markings. One reads “No 35” and the other “5091” which stands for the year of manufacture, meaning 1905

Movement

ST 4-½, brass plate, 8-Day, Time & Strike on coiled gong with half hour “fall-off” strike on cupped bell. Movement is untested and will need repairs/restoration. Springs are unbroken. Movement is stamped with “41/2” and with “MADE IN U.S. AMERICA” with the “ST” in a diamond/circle logo.

Dial/Bezel

Paper dial has quite a bit of staining and age present. Also the dial pan has come free of the sash and will need reattaching. Nice center mask on dial. Dial marked “SETH THOMAS” & “MANUFACTURED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”. Notice the large cast bezel!?! These are the good ones. This one has been repainted probably at the same time that the feet were, but can be stripped and polished.

This clock, even though needing some work, is a great platform for the restoration. Adamantine clocks of this style and color in restored condition can fetch over the $400 mark. Starting offer of $100 is firm. Please don’t expect this clock to relist for anything under $100 should it not sell. I will keep and restore myself when I find the time.
