Please note that these images were all scanned, so you have a perfect example of what you are getting. I decided to do this instead of taking photographs so you would have a very precise picture of what you are getting. Most of the scans are full pages. Some pressbooks have thinner pages and the scanner with the very bright light often will pick up the print on the other side, so please keep that in mind when looking at the photos, this does not show when looking at the page. Also please note that a scanner can produce shadows on the very edges of the page because of the cover not pressing down hard enough, which I didn\'t want to do in order not to hurt the pressbook. Finally, many pressbooks are huge and scanners don\'t come in sizes large enough to scan many in their full page format so if you see something cut off, it is because the page would not fit completely onto my oversized scanner. The \" Scan\" in pink you see on some photos and ads is only there to prevent copying and is not on the pressbook itself.UNCUT 20th Century Fox Cinemascope / stereophonic sound pressbook for \"SEVEN CITIES OF GOLD\" starring Richard Egan, Anthony Quinn, Michael Rennie, Jeffrey Hunter, Rita MorenoPressbooks were printed and designed by the movie studios to promote a film, and were sent exclusively to movie theaters that were showing the movie. They were not seen by the general public except if the theater manager decided to use something within to promote the film, so they are extremely scarce on many movie titles as many have been obtained from closing theaters that were in operation from the 1920\'s through the 1990\'s. Many of these have been sold off during the last 15 years on sale web sites and to collectors. Since the theaters were to use these for their newspaper advertising, most pressbooks were cut, and ads, articles or photos removed. So it is rare to find pressbooks that have no cuts and are complete. They contained everything the theater would need to promote the film including ad mats (this is what theaters used for newspaper advertisements, usually many different styles), pages of original publicity stories, pictures of all of the film\'s posters, promotions with rare studio photos, publicity stills (stills and photos are PART OF THE PRESSBOOK, not separate) and much more. Be sure the pressbook you are shopping for or purchasing is well described as far as condition. I describe the condition as accurately as possible, some of the things I list are very minimal but because this is collectable memorabilia I try to be as precise as possible. This pressbook is part of a series put out by 20th Century Fox as they were introducing the Cinemascope widescreen process (and stereo sound). They were all very large, 14\" x 18\" and were all great pressbooks with many different styles of advertisements and tons of publicity/ behind the scenes stories. These are very rare to find for many of the titles in the series. Due to people copying from sales and producing stills to sell, sadly I had to add the statement \"scanned for \" on many of the advertisements. My apologies but this is to combat piracy of photographs. The pressbook has retained its darkness (beautiful blacks) and the pages have retained their brightness (lovely whites). Printed on all-gloss paper. As you can see by the scans, the overall physical condition is very good. The pressbook is so large I could not scan full pages so I did my best to give you an idea. Condition is very good. On the back cover, there is a slight tear near the center (see last photo of back cover, which is the poster page). The cover has separated from the spine at the bottom about 1 l/2\" but the page is not torn. Otherwise there are no markings, cuts or folds. This pressbook has NEVER BEEN FOLDED. Most pressbooks were folded by the National Screen Service or the owner of the theater for future use. It is rare to find uncut, unfolded pressbooks. Unfolded pressbooks keep higher collectable value and the print inside is not affected.BONUS: Includes the rare newspaper herald that originally came with the pressbook (see last photo). It is very rare to find pressbooks that still contain the separate herald. A herald is (usually) a 4 page newspaper format promotion of the film which theaters could order and give out at their theater to promote the film\'s upcoming showing. The studios would include a sample along with the pressbook, but over the years in many pressbooks that are circulating or being sold, they have fallen out or have been sold on their own, which is why has a category under movie memorabilia for \"heralds.\" I always include it if there is one, I never keep them and sell them separately.sale total number of pages: 12
