This is an original SG-43 machine gun ammunition can design to hold a 250rd belt of 7.62x54 linked ammo. The SG-43 Goryunov was aSoviet medium machine gun. It was introduced in 1943 as replacement for the older1910 Maxim machine guns and was mounted on wheeled mounts, tripods and armored vehicles. It was widely exported and made under license by many Soviet Satellite countries. This machine gun and the ammo cans used to feed them were also supplied throughout the Cold War to many Soviet supported countriesaswell as terroristgroups such as ZIPRA and ZANLA fighting the Rhodesians in the 1970s.

This is a great piece of Vintage Operator gear with endless uses beyond that of feeding the beast. Great for carrying other ammo, tools, general kit, etc.
