Long ago Saturday mornings were dominated by cartoons and ABC delivered with several incarnations of the Scooby-Doo cartoon.
From 1977-1978, ABC presented Scooby\'s All-Star Laff-A-Lympics (a parody of sorts on their own \"Battle of the Network Stars\") in which three teams of your favorite cartoon characters competed in Olympics-styled events.
The 3 teams were:The Scooby Doobies - Featuring team members Babu, Blue Falcon, Brenda Chance, Captain Caveman, Dee Dee Skyes, Dynomutt, Hong Kong Phooey, Scooby Dum, Shaggy Rogers, Speed Buggy, Taffy Dare, Tinker and Scooby himself as team captain. All of these were ABC cartoon characters from shows of the period.
The Yogi Yahooeys - made up of variety of Yogi the Bear friends, with Yogi as captain.
The Really Rottens - All the baddies from a variety of cartoons.
Check out Shaggy Rogers - nearly 4 inches tall - wearing his familiar green shirt and brownish pants. In this case, he also has on the blue \"S\" vest showing he was part of the Scooby Doobies team. The back of the magnet has production information (and just a bit of ink pen).
From memory, I believe this was a free giveaway in a cereal box, but cannot prove that. I\'ve seen a couple other versions of this very magnet of Shaggy, but NONE show him wearing the Scooby Doobies Team Vest.
