What we have here isa Bold Mysterious Inuit Eskimo Stone Carving in the form of a SHAMAN BEAR TRANSFORMATION... good size at 9 inches tall. This is a fantastic carved piece with lots of bold mysterious character... unusual and engaging. Just look at the haunting facial features of both the Shaman and the Polar Bear spirit exclaiming up to the heavens. There is one body but the front of the head is Human as the back of the same head transforms into a bear, the position of the arms expresses dramatically yet differently when viewed as from the Bear side or as from the Shaman side. This is a very well carved piece made of a beautiful mottled green stone with a nice polish. Attached permanently to separate carved base, a few small dings to base edge, Eskimo art sticker on bottom, unsigned as is common with Inuit pieces. I do not know the age of this piece, but because it has an \"Eskimo\" Art sticker and not an \"Inuit\" are sticker it likely has a bit of age. I am starting this sale with to make it exciting for everyone. And remember, this is a culture in one of the most remote and harsh Environments in the world, truly rare. I am happy to offer you the opportunity to touch and hold history... nicks, dings, scratches and imperfections etc are common to this type of artwork and often true to the time of creation and consistent with age, see photos for condition... look at the photos and you decide to your best judgementwhat this is worth... the starting price is cheap so you may get it for abargain!!
