Shelley Chintz “Melody” pattern. Always one of the most sought afterpatterns. This is a cheese or buttertray with lid. The plate is 5.25” squareand the lid is 3.25” square by 2.5” in height.

If you are looking for that unusual, may Isay even rare, this is the piece for you to add to your collection. The lid has a small stain/glaze crack on aninside corner. I believe it happenedwhen the original glaze was added and fired and is only in the glaze. Does not show on the outside. From aNon-smoking household.

Thispieceis beautifully decorated with typical Chintz florals in shades of pink, yellow,creamand has pale green background with an intricate design. On thebottom it is marked \"Shelley, England,Melody, Melody stamp, and withthe design pattern number.

I am only the second owner of most of theShelley up for sale on . Theoriginal buyers were a husband and wife who were in the US Air Force andstationed in England. Many years laterthe wife died and the husband went into an assisted living home. I bought all the sets and serving pieces froman estate sale held at their home in Maryland. I gave them to my wife forour 25th Wedding Anniversary and they have been a prized part of herShelley collection until she passed in 2011.Time to share with others.
