Beautiful, early Japanese woodblock print by Shiro KASAMATSU (1898-1991) - Cherry Blossoms at Ueno Toshogu Shrine. A very exciting and unusual perspective looking skyward through a profusion of cherry blossoms to the shrine beyond. The print is signed along the right margin near the bottom, but it is hidden by the mat. There is also some writing in the right margin, near the top and bottom, whcih I have shown.

Paper size is 10 1/2\" by 15 1/2\". It is tipped onto the mat from the back at the center of the top edge (see pictures). The print is matted and framed under glass in a traditional Japanese black wood frame with wood backing. It is in very good condition. Untrimmed. No foxing. Minor, uniform toning. Strong colors and good bleed through. Some marks on the black finish on the
