A very fine hand decorated set of 12 Shreve & Co. sterling silver dinner plates.

The San Francisco firm began as a small jewelry shop in 1852.

In 1900 after rapid growth Shreve incorporated.

The firm crafted state gifts for Queen Elizabeth, services for

major ships in the US Navy, and the United Nations,

and important commissions for Kings, Shieks and titans of business...

In circular octofoil shape.

Hand decorated cross ribbon tied streaming leaf and berry in

the French Empire taste.

Interrupted by satin surface acanthus, and with

tiny beading along the interior edge of rim.

Art Deco engraved BVS for the original owner.

This set of 12 Shreve & Co. sterling dinner platesare 10 1/2 inches andthe entire set weighs 230 standard ounces.
