This gorgeous gemstone specimenis cut from the finest grade of Tiger\'s Eye that I\'ve ever personally handled! The mixture of blue and goldchatoyant bands make light dance everywhere and even in my metaphysically challenged state I cannot help but wonder what sort ofmagic can account for so much motion and beauty as the light dances through the fibrous structure of this gorgeous stone.Tiger eye is found in many locations around the globe, but this one is South African, home to the finest gem grade tiger eye found onEarth. We have polished this amazing stone to a mirror finish and while difficult to capture the play of light it produces with a camera, the bright bands all the way across the face begin to hint at just how intense the chatoyance is within this perfectlycut andbeautifully polishedstone! Mostof us have seen chatoyance, but I tried to capture how the light plays with the stone as it is rocked backand forth in the multiple photos - even in still photography this is an amazing stone!

Thisgold andblue stone is something I\'d seen and admired since the earliest days of my rockhounding hobby, but it was only recently that I had the chance to produce some top grade rough material to produce cabinet ready, world class display specimens from. The combination of colors in this stone mimic the two natural colors of real tiger\'s eyes and the dancing vertical bars of lightare incredibly intense in this piece. Like many of the stones we sell, this material is often cut up into smaller pieces to make jewelry. But we believe it can only betruly appreciated for its full glory in larger pieces that follow the natural formation of the entire stone and this fine specimen helps illustrate why this stone ought to be represented in your own collection!
This is a large, thick cut slab from the seam that this stone naturally forms within. It\'s been cut across the face to reveal the wavy bands of color inside. The yellow bands are very chatoyant and appear to change colors and move like liquidas the stone is rocked around in the light. The effect is very strong in this stone, stronger than a lot of tiger eye gems I\'ve seen cut for jewelry over the years! The light dances around through the beautiful gold and blueregions making them appear to be full of fluid as you rock it back and forth. The polish is very nice as well, bringing both the color and the chatoyance of the stone totheir fullest natural beauty.
This is a pretty good sized specimen with a world class finish as only our shop can produce on every stone we cut. We cut itthick to feel substantial in your hand and is ready to display in your collection. Display stands sold separately.
It measures about 4 1/4\" long and 3 1/4\" high across the mirror polished face and is cut about 0.34\" thick. It\'s a hefty specimen weighing in at0.42lbs.
