FRAME IN GENERAL:

Frame is made of what looks to be mahogany and measures 27 1/4\" wide X 60 1/4\" long. I am not knowledgeable about this sort of antique, so I may be wrong about the wood source. Corner joints are dovetailed (see photos). It has 5 (1/4\") holes 10 1/2\" from top/bottom of either side and also1/4\" hole in middle of bottom of frame. Front is inlayed with beautiful mother-of-pearl and is signed in writing within the decoration. Glass is in great condition. No cracks or need of repair. Frame weighs 40 lbs.

This item comes from our own family collection and has been in a closet since at least the \'40\'s.

WE WILL PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PICTURES AT YOUR appears to be silk adhered to a brown paper type of material with a cloth gray & white border. Embroidery and border are in very good condition; NO rips, tears or damage. Thereare however a few spots on the top right corner of the border (see photos).

Colors are VERY beautiful. They do not appear to be faded at all. There is a lovely large bird that looks like a cockatiel with a head plume. Colors are Gray, Tan, Teal, Orange. VERY well detailed; face, wings and claws are sharp detail. The bird is sitting on a brown branch of a tree with Teal, Orange, Off-White and Brown buds and flowers. Middle branches are Large White Roses with several buds as well. Bottom is embroidered with ground flowers of some variety.

FRONT FRAME:

There are some missing pieces of Mother-of-Pearl. (See Photos which are taken top left corner to the right around frame). The bottom right hand corner of the front of frame has come apart a little and has a space in the joint (see front and back photo of that corner).

Frame is beautifully appointed with branches, leaves and flowers of Mother-of-Pearl. Frame is signed with writing (not a symbol) and the signature is somewhat hidden in the floral decoration within the upper right-hand quadrant. (See photo).

BACK FRAME:

Inner back frame is made ofwood reinforced with strip across the middle. It isheld in placeinto the outer frame with EIGHT (8) lovely sliding hand madewooden clips. The inner frame is wood, covered with a cloth and/or paper like material (see close-up photo of woven aspect). Some is missing.

Some damage. Damage to bottom results in a sliver strip of the mahogany missing as well as another piece missing at the corner that has been reinforced with brass bracket and 2 screws. (see photos of both missing pieces)

There is an $60.00 handling fee to cover the actual cost ofpadding and crating materials (padding alone is $40). Item will be padded with foam and crated in a wooden box frame. The cost from our home to the Kentucky Global Shipping facility is approximately $165.00.
