Signed Mark Eckstrand Studio Art Glass Paperweight. This gorgeous weight is an undersea depiction of a coral reef. Beautiful and looks different from every angle and made by a truly talented artist. Hand-signed on the bottom \"M E 05\" which I have shown in the last photograph. Measures approximately 3\" wide and 2 1/2\" tall.Excellent condition with no scratches, chips, breaks or repairs. Glass artist Mark Eckstrand recreates the undersea world in his hand-blown glass works. His pieces resemble aquariums, the ocean floor, plants, coral, mollusks, anemones and fish. The deep, rich colors of the undersea world are captured in these magnificent pieces of art. Even as a child, Eckstrand was enamored of fish and spent hours watching his home aquarium. Eckstrand uses fused imagery in combination with hand-blown art works to create a style that is uniquely his own. His background in drawing and painting and his love of glass blowing led him to the concept of these labor-intensive, aesthetically beautiful vases. platters and sea-ball paperweights. I do not use a flash or alter my photos, only natural sunlight or a regular table lamp.
