Original Frame, Matting & Backing Standley went all out in preparing and presenting his photographs. The matting base papers are of exquisite quality, thickness, and texture. It is very charming and elegant. H.L. Standley is a famous photographer who was a mountaineer and enjoyed taking outdoor shots in the wilderness. Take a close look at the paper backing in the photos. They are quite classy. The signature is done in pencil. The artist wrote \"Longs Peak and Bear Lake, Estes Park Colorado\" on the matt preceding his signature. The actual photo was way more beautiful and colorful than my photos show. Here is a borrowed photo of Stanley doing what he loved to do. Beautiful dark wooden frame. Some of the speckles you see in the photo is only a little dust behind the glass, and you may see some reflection in the glass from when I took the photos for the sale. This is a rare art piece. The original rice paper is missing from the back. The tacks you see are original to this piece. This comes well-protected with lots of foam packing.
