This is a hand carved Folk Art Swan or maybe a goose. It was carved from a hardwood log (maple?)from an old home or barn. The center core of the wood appears on the head,breast and under the tail where a cut plug was put to solidify the log. This piece weighs 3 pounds & 7 ounces. measures 12\" long 6\" tall and 4 1/2\" deep. Hardwoods take a very nice polish. signed John STONEY Very nice
