The mine closed because of a natural disaster causing the company to raise millions of dollars to repair the damage to the railroad. Then once they had secured the money to rebuild, the depression hit and the financing disappeared causing the closure of the mine and mill. Since then, many companies have looked at the property to reopen the mine, but for various reasons were unable to do so. The mine still has billions of dollars ore reserves that is proven and probable sitting waiting to be mined.The mine produced Sliver, Gold, Copper, Lead, Zinc, and Tungsten has been proven as an additional resource in the mine.
