A comment about how to get an excellent, SAFE machine:
Good wiring is essential for full performance in a 15-91
The biggest problem with 15-91\'s is that the motor wire insulation
deteriorates to bare wire sometimes only inside the motor where you can\'t see it.
You have to pull the motor housing off the machine to inspect it
and if necessary completely rewire it.
Before you purchase make sure the motor wires
have been checked closely and replaced if necessary as I do with all of mine.

COMPLETELY RE-WIRED MOTOR AND LIGHT
If any seller says their machine has \"new wiring\" ask for a close up
picture of all the wiring. Some are claiming \"new wiring\" but all they
have replaced is the foot controller power wire. Be cautious.

The 15-91 is a gear driven, all metal machine
one of the best straight stitch machine Singer ever made.
Easy reverseAlso wonderful for free motion sewing for quilting.
The feed dogs drop and it works beautifully.
It is heavy and stays put.
Will stand alone on table top to work.
