Here\'s anice rough (uncut)coconut geode with a great shape and the promise of good agate peeking out under the skin. This one is photographed wet, which can help provide at least a hint as to what type of agateor crystal might be waiting inside. These can be great, unusual stones for cutting. They arealmost alwaysfull of gorgeous agate or crystals, but you won\'t know for sure until you cut it! This particular one looks very round and is quite dense - it should cut a pair of very nice stones.

Here\'s a nice solid, very dense Coconut geode from Mexico. These geodes are really one of my favorite stones to cut. You can find anything from hollow chambers full of amethyst, smokey quartz, calcite and other fascinate crystal formations to solid stones full of agate or ice like clear quartz crystals all locked together. No two are ever identical and the variety in cutting is just one of the rewards. These stones are particularly amazing because they look so bland on the exterior. They can be recognized by the rough, coral like surface and the trademark \"belly button\" that gives coconut geodes their name. This is a virtually perfect coconut that looks and feels like it should cut a pair of beautiful stones, but of course you won\'t know until you open that saw! It has a very nice shape, about the size of a large apple.

I\'ve been cutting some of these stones recently and really gotten some top grade collectibles out of them. When you buy an uncut stone, you are taking your chances that it could be a dud or it could be a real museum piece (that\'s half the fun for a rockhound!). I can offer cutting & polishing services to the high buyer for a reasonable fee if you\'re just dying to see what\'s inside and don\'t have rock equipment, but I\'m pretty backed up in the shop and can\'t quote a turnaround time so my suggestion is to only consider this one if you\'re very patient or have your own equipment.

These are great natural treasures that will only give up their secrets when cut. Photo shows stone when wet. This one measures roughly 4.3\" in diameter and is just about perfect. It weighs about3.2 lbs. Good Luck!
