This is a museum quality piece of jewelry. The gold and diamond set serpent pendant is stunning!! The design of this piece is the very best. It is so simple and classic! The beautiful gold and the curving form with the Old MIne Cut Diamond create a piece to die for!

In the Victorian era the snake was the symbol of eternal love. It has come to symbolize sexuality, rebirth and wisdom. The jewel is from the estate of a New York aristocrat and dates to c1870-1900.

The pendant is in excellent condition. The pendant is 10 mm long not including the top loop and 14mm long including the top loop. It is 10 mm wide at the widest portion. The top loops may be a later addition. The pendant tests for 14-16K gold. The pendant weighs .7 grams.
