Welcome to my sale -Up for your considerationis this very nice solid 10k gold pin fromThe Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences in Cincinnati Ohio. The pin has the school motto"SUMMO COMMISSO MISSI" which means "On Highest Mission Sent" around a conjoined, hand engraved CH in the center.The Christ Hospital School of Nursing was the predecessor to The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences in Cincinnati Ohio. In 1889, a group of local citizens, led by soap maker James N. Gamble opened a ten-bed hospital, named Christ\'s Hospital. Between 1889 and 1901, the Association trained only deaconesses as nurses, but they soon recognized the need for enrolling other qualified young women. By 1901, young women were accepted for training as nurses whether or not they intended to become deaconesses. This paved the way for the formation of The Christ Hospital School of Nursing in 1902. Pin back is marked GBM & Co 10k Cinti.O for the Gordon B. Miller & Company of Cincinnati, Ohio – formerly, the oldest recognition products company in North America until it was bought-out by Jostens, Inc. in 1990.

CONDITION - The pin is in very fine vintage, pre-owned condition! Some normal age/use wear - as with all of my estate items, I have not cleaned or polished it.

SIZE - It measures approximately 7/8" across and weighs 3.8 grams.
