Stylish sophistication with the briefest of nods to Art Deco, this William Hutton & Sons solid silver cream jug is the epitome of restrained elegance.

The body of the piece is perfectly proportioned, curving up to a delicate lip and sitting atop a circular base with two lines running in parallel.

The handle is decorated with the sparest detail with a series of beads being the most obvious and notable concession to the Art Deco period in which it was made. Birmingham hallmarks put the date at 1927.

It weighs 98 grams and is offered in very good vintage condition.
