the serial number 48XXX is stamped on the blade The blade is bright ,.. Not rusted or pitted The wooden grips are smooth and clean
Not banged up and oil stained ( like you usually see on this model ) The LEATHER is in good / fair condition ,... the seam is starting to split open near the tip
it looks like the pommel was plated during its period of usage ,.most of it has worn off
The nicest Spanish model 1916 I have had Remember , these saw extensive combat during the brutal Spanish civil war , it could have been used by either side in that conflict they continued to be issued well into WWII
its hard to find these in decent shape
( Unlike the spanish model 1941 ,.. Which are usually always in near mint cond ) dont pass it up !
