That\'s because...

Todd Mcfarlane revolutionized Spiderman entirely with his beautiful run on Amazing Spiderman 298-328 (including 300), spiderman was already amazing and spectacular, all it needed was Mcfarlane.

So when, \"Spiderman\" came out in August of 1990, with the unforgettable pose of him chilling in his own webbing, it revolutionized comics completely. It was the first comic to have \"variant\" covers, a green, & silver edition was originally printed, then a much more RARE sweet GOLD cover second print came out in the same month and year as the green / silver! This is almost unheard of, and I don\'t think it\'s ever happened again.

This comic sold a RECORD 2.5 MILLION copies!!! The greatest selling comic of all time! The beginning of the \"variant\" cover, the comic that inspired and helped to create the love of homage covers / cover swipes.

Possibly the most homaged cover of all time? Well is neck and neck with action comics 1, the first appearance of SUPERMAN. I\'d say that\'s a good class to be in.
